Our Story

The JBR Foundation was established in 2019 by Jennifer Starr and Chad Robbins, in loving memory of their brother, Jamie Bryant Robbins.

The JBR Foundation is dedicated to helping fight the suicide epidemic growing in our country by providing funding to schools and other youth organizations in and around Southeast Iowa and West Central Illinois, so that they may in turn provide more educational programs to educate our youth on addiction, mental health, and suicide prevention.

In addition, The JBR Foundation is dedicated to providing a little comfort to the children whose lives are so greatly affected by suicide loss via the Project Thumbies Campaign.

About Jamie

This is our beautiful brother, Jamie Bryant Robbins. He is the heart of The JBR Foundation.

Born January 15, 1979 to Chris and Charlene Robbins, Jamie lived a very full and productive life. He was very social and he was loved by many, many people. He worked as a Trainmaster for BNSF Railway. He loved geese and was a passionate hunter. His biggest passion in life was golf having achieved great success in the sport and even having competed in May 2017 in the US Open Qualifier.

Unfortunately, on April 3, 2018 after a long battle with an addiction to alcohol and depression, Jamie died by suicide.

He left behind three beautiful children and they are the inspiration behind The JBR Foundation’s Project Thumbies Campaign.
